"At the beginning of 2019 I began a particular painting, a painting that had to convey a very specific message and emotion. Every painting that I do where a sky is involved starts of as a pail blue sky, later in the painting process as the image builds to completion I change the sky and build the drama with clouds and colour. At the time I began this painting I knew that I would have to wait until I was in the right frame of mind and there would be a short window of time in which I would be able to complete the work I have been working furiously for the last three and a half hours I am taking a short break now." — Sare Jess
